Within our school community we provide opportunities for our older pupils to take on some responsibility and to act as role models for younger pupils.

Librarians

Our librarians help to keep our library tidy, they help to stamp any new books and help children to change their books. They are available in the library during lunchtimes on a rota to read to children.

Growth Mindset Ambassadors

Our Growth Mindset Ambassadors encourage others to show resilience and learn from their mistakes

School Councillors

Each class from Y1 – Y6 has two school council representatives. Our school councillors are elected by their classmates. School council members meet once a month to discuss school life and any changes themselves and their classmates may like to see. Previously, the school council have raised funds for new playground equipment through holding jumble and cake sales.

Eco Council

Our eco council work together to improve our eco effectiveness around school. Areas such as food wastage and energy consumption will form part of their ongoing work.

Sports Ambassadors

Our sports ambassadors take part in the Primary Leadership Academy. This enables them to lead playground games for the younger children, maintain equipment, and encourages them to keep the equipment in the shed tidy.

Reading Buddies

Our reading buddies are children from Jurassic class, year 5 & 6. The children  receive training from Dorset Reading Partners. Following this our reading buddies regularly read with younger children at assembly times.
