Studland - Year 1

Studland Class – Year 1

Welcome to Studland; our year one class. Our class teacher is Miss Wills and our class Teaching Assistant is Miss Etheridge. We work to deliver an exciting curriculum in which children have the opportunity to thrive and become successful learners.

We aim to make the transition into year one smooth and foster strong links with Reception throughout the year. We believe that the curriculum needs to give children the chance to discover and problem-solve through a range of resources.

Developing the children’s love of reading is of huge importance and so we continue to spend time exploring books and stories with children, in order to build on their imagination and comprehension skills.

During the year, we will learn about wider curriculum topics that include: The Great Fire of London, How technology has changed, Living in the UK and Significant Women in History, who have had an impact on the world today.

We look forward to welcoming you to our class and school community.
