Here at Bere Regis Primary and Pre-school, we use Tapestry; an online ‘Learning Journey’ for all our Pre-school and Reception Class children.  The system enables written observations, photographs and videos to be instantly added to your child’s Learning Journey. This can be from any pre-school or school member of staff or from yourselves as parents/carers. Observations, photos and videos can be added using a computer, iPad, iPhone or other Android device. 

Your child’s key worker or class teacher record observations they make of your child’s learning (which may include photographs) into their Learning Journey on Tapestry and link them to the EYFS statements in our curriculum. This enables them to make informed on-going assessments of your child’s development and plan for the next steps in their learning. Parents receive a notification when a new observation has been added to their child’s learning journey by a staff member.  

As parents, you have free access to view or add to your child’s Learning Journey, either through the Tapestry App or via a laptop.  This is particularly important for those parents who work away, or work shifts, as they will be kept informed regarding their child’s progression.  

The “All About Me” section is very important information for staff, as it will help them to settle your child more quickly and help their first days with us run more smoothly.  It is very helpful for us if you complete the form before your child starts with us and keeping it up to date, helps us to learn about their routines and particular interests as they develop.
